Whimsical Happy Camper Rag Quilt

You are looking at a Whimsical  Rag Quilt. The quilt is all cotton and the large beautiful panel on front is cotton. These quilts look pretty draped on the bed or sofa or a chair. The uses are many. This is a Rag Quilt. Rag quilts are very time consuming, first you cut out the pieces and the batting. Then you sew every square with a x. That is for the quilting process..3 Layers 2 flannel or cotton and 1 batting. Then the rows are assembled and the rows are laid out so you have a vertical pattern. Then you put it all together to create the Great Look. On a rag quilt one side of the quilt is all of the seams ragged and the other side looks like a finished quilt with ragging only on the outside border, but we did ours a little different and added a border all around so the one side is completely finished. The Large Beautiful  Panel is on the front side only, Squirrels with sayings like "Don't Judge, Go Nuts, and the Bear with a big fish says Dreams do com true. . I use the ragged side for the front but you could use either side. The front and backs of our rag quilts do match. We don't use a solid color on the back of the rag quilts. The quilt has been made with all flannel and cotton fabric .We have used an assortment of solids, plaids, checks and more. The quilts are done in 8" squares. Very nice look. We have added a border all around, in a gold fabric , so the back side is completely finished and the other side has the ragging. This is a Great size for a throw over the lap ,5 feet wide (60") by 6 1/2 feet (78") long. Great throw for those chilly evenings . I have started the ragging process with the first rinse. The first time or 2 that you wash will rag a little, gives it the ragged look. The quilt is machine wash (cold Water) and dry on gentle cycle. As you probably know rag quilts are extremely warm. This is very heavy and warm. The quilt has been made in a smoke free home. Thanks for looking. The last photo is the Back so you can see. These Quilts can be reversed.
