Original WWI "Keep It Coming Waste Nothing" US Food Admin. 1918 Vintage Poster

original propaganda poster. Plastic wrapped with cardboard backing. I have not taken it out of it's protective covering since I acquired it, but it looks to be have just a few tears or wrinkles in the top corners and creases along the edges.
When President Woodrow Wilson appointed Herbert Hoover as head of the Food Administration, Hoover decided to cut domestic consumption of foods needed overseas to avoid rationing for America. However the Food Administration did support rationing in order to feed more soldiers and their families while their men were overseas. This poster features a quote by General John J. Pershing- "We must not only feed our soldiers at the front but the millions of women and children behind the lines" - and artwork by George Illian.
