    Description

An original linen-backed 1917 World War I "War Savings Stamp" "Keep Him Free" poster.  Artist is Charles Livingston Bull.  Encourages Americans to buy war stamps to help fund the war effort.  larger-than-life eagle nesting biplanes as they prepare for war!
The date of the poster is 1917. The item measures 20" x 30" not including the linen border.  Linen-backing is a process to preserve paper. As part of the process the posters are adhered to linen (a reversible process that prevents folds from opening up), cleaned and de-acidified (serving to preserve the color of the poster). The process creates a vibrant piece of art that is suitable for framing.  Condition is fair-good.  Touch-up, paint-in, some paper repair but overall absolutely a smashing poster.
