    Description

We are very pleased to offer an
    original,
    circa-1918
    ,
WWI Homefront poster with the image of a Boy Scout in the foreground handing a sword to Lady Liberty. The sword is printed with the Boy Scout motto, "
    BE PREPARED
". The text on the poster reads, "
U*S*A BONDS / THIRD LIBERTY LOAN CAMPAIGN BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA / WEAPONS FOR LIBERTY
    ".
    The artist's name is "
    Joseph Leyendecker
    ", and the printer's name, "
    AMERICAN LITHOGRAPHIC CO., N.Y.
" is at the bottom, center.
There is a yellow-colored symbol at the lower right corner that I can't quite make out.
This well-known poster has been stabilized and nicely framed under glass (see framer's name in photos). It measures 20-1/4" wide by 29-1/4" tall inside the 1/4" red-colored metal frame.  Because of its age, there are some condition issues as follows: water stain st the lower right corner; horizontal folds; tack holes in the corners, some edge wear/surface loss on the right and bottom edges. Despite this, the piece displays extremely well and is ready for hanging. An iconic and extremely desirable piece of WWI war time memorabilia!
This piece is part of a Southern Vermont estate of a man who traveled the world, and is absolutely authentic.
The cost of a professional artwork shipping box is included in the price.
The winning bidder pays shipping costs. Good luck, and thanks for looking!
