If your vehicle is PATS equipped, this lock cylinder with the non-electronic keys, will NOT crank the vehicle; this replacement lock should be matched to your existing key. This will also keep you from having two different keys for your vehicle. We can provide this service; see extra services below.
How do you tell if your vehicle is PATS equipped? You can look for a "THEFT" light in the instrument panel or a simple red blinking light on top of the dash. If your key is 1 1/4 inches wide with an offset keyring hole, this is a sure sign that you have a PATS key. This doesn't apply to some newer PATS keys which are much the same size as a regular key, you should look for the theft indicator somewhere on the dashboard.
Merchandise Description
This ebay auction is for one Strattec brand ignition lock. This lock is new in original Strattec packaging and comes with 3 Ford logo keys...just as pictured.
Strattec is an OEM and the worlds largest producer of automotive locks and keys. Ford buys this lock from Strattec and packages it under the Ford brand.
*** ATTENTION ***
If your vehicle is a 1996 model there may be two different lock options. For most (not all) Ford products, 1996 was a transition year for lock types, with late 96 taking this lock with the plastic ears/face and early 96 taking a different lock which has metal ears/face. We can't tell you which lock according to the mfg. date, you will have to compare the face....they are noticeably different. If your old lock has the same black plastic ears, this will be the correct replacement...remember above note about PATS equipped vehicles.
*** ATTENTION ***
This lock fits 2004 Heritage (old body style) models. 2004 new body style trucks require a different lock cylinder.
