These rings are made using U.S.
silver Morgan dollars
, dated 1921
,
with the
obverse (heads) design on the outside,
and
a polished finish
.
The obverse side of the dollar is the one that includes
the date of the coin as well as
the words "Liberty" and "E Pluribus Unum".
The rings in my pictures are size 8.5.
Their width are determined by size, but can be up to 15mm wide.  The side of the ring with the reeded edge are 2 mm, and the other side is 1.5 mm.  I ensure that my rings are uniformly straight on the outside, but because of the different edge sizes, the inside will have a bit of a taper to it.
At nearly an ounce, these are
very
heavy rings!
They may not be appropriate for every day wear, but they do make a neat statement for occasional use.
I take pride in my work and strive for quality in each ring.  Since these are handmade, each one is unique!
What makes my dollar rings different?
I use
silver
dollars that have only seen light circulation.  These have a bolder, cleaner design than the "slick", well worn dollars.
My rings have a straight side look.  Straight sides are more comfortable than bulgy, "fat tire" sides, as they allow the fingers to rest more naturally.
I carefully smooth the edges to make the rings as
comfortable
as possible.
